The all terrain bamboo board is great.
I am new to skateboarding so I am very gently breaking myself into it. The board is very stable and easy to get used to.
The acceleration is huge even up steep hills and at my level there has always been more speed in reserve if I want it.
I have been taking the board through varied forest trails. Sometimes really rough rocky/gravely trails and sometimes bumpy root heavy trails, it amazes me how much the board copes with!
I live in the uk so i only go out with the board when we have had a few dry days in a row otherwise I get some wheelspin on the muddier areas. I am currently using the all terrain tire but i am going to purchase and fit the off road nobbly tire and see how that goes.
It's worth noting that I used up a full battery today and travelled 11 miles by the time it got close to 0% battery,
This is due to the very heavy terrain and steep slopes involved so to be expected.
Be very careful with the brakes as they will easily throw you off. I am still learning to compensate for this. I try to be very alert for people, bikes, children or animals as if you had to brake suddenly you will come off.
Personally I recommend full safety gear when using these boards. As a novice I use knee, elbow, wrist protection and a full face helmet. I don't want to be nursing injuries for weeks on end!
I've only fallen off once but i no doubt will again.
Also the board with standard battery is really heavy and unwieldy to carry!
Biggest negative is…
